You can integrate win gui in portal to, if you want.

Sap gui for HTML can be configured in your APP server, and you must be able to connect it using web browser , before you integrate it in portal. About Java gui you need to install web server like IIS and configure your portal to use this web server for downloading JAVA gui in browser (as applet) if you do not want install it on PC .

Try to read about old release of sap gui for java, but the main steps are the same for new releases to

You can create Iview based on win gui. After you configure "SAP system" in portal try to simply chek it using "Support tools" -->

In portal navigate to "System Administration" --> "Support" --> SAP Application --> SAP Transaction

In "system" select the "alias" of your configured system , specify the Transaction and select

"sap gui for Windows". It's the sample .

If it's says connection broken, it's means you have not correctly configured SYSTEM in portal , or you have firewall on PC , on server or in your Network, are you able connect this system using SAP GUI for windows? (without portal). Are the Test Connection with Connector for this system works fine? This is are not Portal forum , but i have experiance in portal, next time this questions better ask on Portal forum....

You are not answer, are you able to login in SAP using win gui directly without Portal?

Are you trying to check erreo in traces of SAP GUI? Check in SapWorkDir folder.

Check in SapWorkDir in user profile directory like C:\Documents and Settings\User

, can you say the Property Category: Connector , are specyfied :

SAP System Number,

Server Port

Remote Host Type.

Also you use direct or logon balanced method ?

The properties for SAP System Number, Server Port, Remote Host Type seem to be okay, because I can use exactly this system with logon pad html ... it seems to a be problem with normal logon pad over portal ... directly windows logon pad works ...

Are you check error in SAPWORKDIR folder ?

very strange situation, you can connsct directly using SAP GUI, you can use Iview for HTML, but can't use for WIN gui .... Are you check again you speak about one server ?

Check logs in nay case ...

The file name like errorlog.gui

Dear christian the log says connection to partner 'server:port' broken

or you change this and message are like connection to partner 'yourservername:3200' broken ?

Please in any case say how you configure system in portal ? -->

the Property Category : Connector are directly specify the 32XX port or you use message server ?
