Hello,
It is possible to run NW Developer Studio on a Windows 7 64 Bit.
You have to install the Microsoft Virtual PC with Win XP mode.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx
Step 1: Download and Install Windows XP Mode
Step 2: Download and Install Windows Virtual PC
Step 3: Download and Installa Update Windows XP Mode
It creates a virtual PC running Windows XP.
On the XP mode virtual PC, you install the JDK and the Developer Studio as usual.
In order to run de application directly from Win 7 64bit, you need to make sure on the XP mode virtual PC that the StartMenu --> Programs --> NW DevStudio folder is under "All Users".
Check the video "How to Install an Application on Windows XP Mode" on http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/support/default.aspx
It works great!!
