Rejecting customer contract after creating sales order with reference to it

Hello Gurus,

Our sales employee did a deal with one of our customers, then the customer sent call off, well, our sales employee entered sales order with reference to the contract created before. What happened after was the customer cancelled the order and also cancelled the contract. accordingly we need to close these documents, first we deleted the sales order and then we went to delete the customer contract but the system refused because there is sales order created although we deleted it, how we can fix this issue and close the opened contract?

Did you physically delete the order or did you just reject it?

If the order was physically deleted (i.e. no record for it in VBAK/VBAP) then the reference should've been deleted from the contract as well. If this is the case and you're still getting an error then my guess would be something went wrong with the deletion. Search the SAP Notes for a correction and contact SAP Support if needed.

If the order was rejected then you won't be able to delete the contract (naturally) but you should be able use whatever cancellation procedure is applicable at your organization.
