Key sheet document in material master.

Hi all,

I would appreciate if some one could shed some light on the key sheet document in SAP material master.

We are integrating SAP with Siemens Teamcenter.

At the customer, when document is attached to a MM, lets say P1, the document goes through various stages before the P2 revision can be created. Following are the stages

1.Created (CR)

2.Work in progress (WIP)

3.Approved (AP)

4. Released (RL)

If the P1 document is in Approved stage user can create P2 doc, but if the P1 document is Released (RL) "00" revision must be created.

Same stages apply for the 00 revision, but the difference is.

When the 00 revision is at Approved and is to be released, A pop up dialog box asks the user whether to create the Keysheet document or not. The user must select "yes" for releasing the revision 00.

This is a manual activity where the user selects to create the keysheet document.

I would like to know what is the significance of this keysheet document and can we automate the process of creation such that there is no popup while releasing.

The issue that we face is;

When we transfer the revision data from Teamcenter to SAP, the keysheet document is not created and hence it doesnot allow us to release the 00 document.

Google does not find a single document in help.sap.com which has the term "key sheet"

So I assume this is something specific to Siemens Teamcenter and you would need to discuss your question with the Siemens consultant
