Dear SCN-Team,
I just noticed the updated "Top Contributors" application.
I really love the fact that you can filter by year and specially by contest. Now you have a way to "prove" that you have been a top contributor in a contest (or more) without the certificate from SAP. It would be really useful if you could link directly to such a filtered page for example from your CV (via ...topcontributors?area=portal&contest=2006)
I am also wondering why it is not possible to select the contest 2004-2005 (where I have been awarded my first Top Contributor pin/certificate).
Another thing that I was actually hoping to see was the possibility to filter by service area (i.e. wiki, blogs, forum, etc.). I believe that this would give a better insight on how the p0ints are allotted (who answers the most questions in the forum on a topic, who has created most of the wiki content for a topic).
Finally, I was really disappointed to find out that the filter by "Any Date" (or "Overall" - don't remember the name) was removed! Without this option it's impossible to see that there are community members that have spent a very high amount of their time over the years to contribute content and accumulate 20000, 30000 or even 50000 p0nts.
On the "About Us" page here on SCN there is an example of why participating actively on SCN could be great for ones reputation, and I believe adding the features mentioned above would really improve the visibility of top contributors. I realize that most of the overall top contributors have been recognized already as "SAP Mentors", but I still think that there might be specialists in their areas that are not mentors or don't want to carry the responsibilities that come with the job, but should still be recognize for their overall contribution.
Thanks for always listening and improving the site,
Robert
