Trigger-based campaigns can be used to automatically execute an action if something is triggered. I would like to know how to set up an individual trigger (e.g. some custom interaction was created). How can this be done?

We are on SAP Marketing Cloud. I have a requirement where when customer purchases a product in Commerce we need to trigger an email reminding them of an attached redemption to the product.
Let me know if my approach is right : I plan to create an Interaction Type ( as there is no standard IA type for product purchased - only product put in cart, product removed from cart, checkout etc.). for product purchased.( Or they may be an interaction - but I don't know which one). Then in customization ( Manage Your Solution) the step of assigning Interaction Channel and Communication Medium.
I want to know how Interaction Channel and Communication Medium should be selected and mapped to the Interaction Type Created. How these steps are done?

To answer your question: have a look at the following standard interaction types "SALES_ORDER" or "SHOP_CHECKOUT_SUCCESS". You can find all standard interaction types in SAP Marketing Cloud here:

In the customizing, when you created the custom interaction type, you also indicate that it is relevant for campaign triggers.
Then in your trigger-based campaign, you select that interaction type as the trigger.

It depends if you are running onpremise or cloud.
For onpremise, see comment of Kunal below.
For Cloud, go to "manage your solution" and you should find back the same activities as Kunal described within the configuration options.

And so you know - EMAIL_HARD_BOUNCE and EMAIL_SOFT_BOUNCE is not working as a campaign action trigger. It is not currently possible to send an sms in case of failed email to reach a customer. Separate campaign is needed for that.
