Hierarchy Activation.

I have loaded a Hierarchy from ECC into BI. Example 0CostCenter hierarchy, with DataSource 0COSTCENTER_0101_HIER.

Now in 0CostCenter ->Hierarchy ->Maintain Hierarchies, I can see this Hirarchy with Version M.

I highlighted this Hierarchy and click Activate, the version change to A.

I can display this Hierarchy in report.

Is this the correct process? I thought we should run Change Run to activate the Hierarchy?

But before/after I activate the Hierarchy in Maintain Hierarchy, I dont see any Hierarchy in Change Run ->Hierarchy List.

Please advice.

If there is a change in the existing hierarchy then only you will get your hierarchy under change run.

OK, in that case, it is correct that we need to activate the heirarchy in Maintain Hierarchy ->Activate. Correct?

Only after the activation, assuming there is change to existing Hierarchy, then we will see it in Change Run. correct?

Look at it this way ...

Load Hierarchy - Activate the same --> Attribute change run

Ideally when you load the hierarchy through an infopackage it should get activated ... An Attribute change run makes sure that the hisrarchy version seen across SAp Bi is the same as you see it in RSA1 ( active version )

This Hierarhcy AAA already exist in BW. I have now made a changed to this Hierarchy in R/3.

Loaded this Hierarchy into BW, activated it.

But still in Change Run, I dont see this Hierarchy at all???

Confused... please advice.
