CR XIr2 and CR 2008 in BOE XI 3.1

I am looking for a document detailing how to install CR XIr2 and CR 2008 on same client. I need both of these apps to be able to post to BOE XI 3.1 is this possible? How will I be able to tell once a report is published if it is a r2 or a 2008 version.

Thanks

Bryan

Hi Brain,

We can install multiple versions of a crystal on same server.

We can publish the CR XI R2 and CR 2008 reports to BOE XI 3.1 server.

But in the Enterprise there is no such option available to know which version the reports are developed.

As there is no such functionality avaialble till now , we need to manually run the reports in designer applications.

Regards,

Naveen.

Hi,

CR supports multiple major versions to be installed on the same machine. You shouldn't need to do anything special to support this deployment scenario.

Once gotcha right now is that you need to be careful if you are installing CR 2008 on the same box as BOE XI 3.0 or 3.1. CR 2008 SP0 is meant only for BOE XI 3.0 whereas CR 2008 SP1 is meant only for BOE 3.1. You cannot mix these combinations. Make sure you get the right version of CR 2008 before you install onto your BOE XI 3.0/3.1 box.

Hi Bryan,

There is no special, instructions needed to install multiple versions of crystal on same box.

As such it is not recommended to have such scenarios. If you make any changes to the dll files or registry key entries it would effect both the versions.

We can publish both versions of reports to your server BOE XI 3.1 i.e with SP1.

Thanks,

Naveen.
