Hi,
What could be the rootcause that the item text field during Purchase Requisition transaction (me51n,me52n) is not editable ?
its grey out and cannot type in anything...
we're using ecc6. pls help..thanks in advance.

Normally Item text field in PR is editable. Try creating in ME51N and change it in ME52N.
It is working for me as I checked.

Check it in SPRO- SAP IMG- Material Management- Purchase requisition- Define screen layout at document level.
Have u selected or somebody selected display option or not pls check it.

Once you create a PR using ME51N, which ever item text you have maintained there that can be editable using ME52N.
