Dear experts,
I have a question on the setting of SM59.(IDOC)
The setup is between a 3P and 4.0B.
I dont know the Programme ID. I should use to do the setup. Should the Programme ID. come from the 3P or we have to write this on our side. (if we have to write what is the standard code)
The gateway or host service (where should we get this info?)
The settings are going over TCP/IP.
Thanks for the advice and help.
ok

Hi,
You can give your own Programe ID name, but it should be case sensitive. That ID should be used in sender RFC channel as same.

1. are both of those systems sap systems?
if so then you have to create RFC type 3 and not TCPIP
2. if one of them is not SAP and you have to create rFC type TCPIP
then you can put into program ID filed anything
(this has nothing to do with SE38 programs)
but on 3p such a program id (in configuration) must also exists

SAP 4.0 to 3P (third party warehouse)
We are trying to establish a connection with them.
TCP IP is created but dont know the Programme ID what it should be..
The defaullt target machine is teh SAP 4.0 which it automaticllay picks up..but whe^n I give the programme ID. field what should be given here?...
Hi Andy,
Program ID of the registered server program. The selected program ID must uniquely describe the RFC sender channel in the configured gateway (Application Server (Gateway) and Application Server Service (Gateway) parameters). Also this program where you execute your RFC function with specified RFC destination.

if you have referred my blog - /people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2008/01/08/troubleshooting--rfc-and-soap-scenarios-updated-on-20042009
the program id is a unique name. This will be part of your RFC destination and identifies the involved system.
