How do create Third-Party backend entry in Portal SLD?

Former Member

Hello,

I have implemented a connector for UWL which connects to a Third-Party server via http.

Now just the entry in the System Landscape inside of SAP Portal is missing.

Please can anyone tell me which of the templates is most suitable for a Non-SAP Backend System?

Which parameters do I have to define for connecting via http?

I have already searched the SAP Documentation. The only thing I have found there regarding this problem is this sentence: "To configure the usage of the connection, first create a System Landscape entry for your backend system ....". But the documentation tells never what kind of system type this entry should be.

Please help as soon as possible, because my customer is waiting.

Best regards,

Iris

Solution:

The Third-Party backend system has to be created in SLD in the same way as a normal SAP R/3-Backend System.

Login via SAP Logon Ticket.

Hope this information helps others.

Hi

Login to portal -System Administration-System Configuration-Under Portal Content you can create a new folder and there create a System from Template.

Choose template as HTTP system.

Give it a try.

Hello,

>Choose template as HTTP system.

I have already tried this. It hasn´t work. But perhaps I had used a wrong configuration while trying this.

Can you tell me which parameters I have to configure if I want to use this template for a Third-party system?

Hello,

I have found out that in SAP Portal it must be possible to create a new system from a par-file which is uploaded to portal before.

I have such a par-file. It is deployed and uploaded to the portal server. And the application which is contained by this PAR is running in SAP Portal. But when I go to

System Administration --> System Configuration --> Portal Content --> right mouse click to folder --> new System from par

then this PAR can not find there.

I have also tried to upload this PAR manually to portal. But the result is the same. This PAR does not exist in the radiobutton-options to create a new System.

Please can anybody tell me how to create a system (or a system-template) from an uploaded PAR-file?

Hi ,

You can create the system from template and choose "SAP system using connection string".

Pls see this link onhow to create a system.

Hello Ajay,

thanks for your quick reply.

>You can create the system from template and choose "SAP system using connection string".

Is this template not only valid for SAP-Systems? I want to connect to an Non-SAP-Backend.

If it is also valid vor Non-Sap-Systems: what should I fill in in this template for SAP-Client, SAP-System-ID and type of SAP-System?

The link which you told me does not tell which template is valid for Non-SAP-Backends.

Iris
