Control record

Hi Guys

Clarify my doubt.

while running the payroll processing (in simulation run, Test run, Live run) we will give payroll area in 2 fields.

where, one is for control record (Payroll period) and another in selection (under personnel number range field).

My question is

Both fields should be same payroll areas.?

in my company we may have so many payroll areas say Z1, Z2, Z3..........Z10

Payroll area for control record (PAYROLL PERIOD) is say Y1,.

Can i use combination like Y1-Z1, Y1-Z2 ..Y1-Z10 like that in the above mentioned fields or screens.
