Backdated Changed to HR Data

Hello,

I have a question regarding HR Access using the Time administration Code (SACHZ) for authorisation. The scenario is as follows:

An employee currently has a record for Infotype 0001 with Start Date 01.03.2009 and End Date 31.12.9999. Assignment to Time Administrator = 476.

The previous record for Infotype 0001 for this employee has Start Date 14.12.2008 and End Date 28.02.2009. Assignment to Time Administrator = 012.

So the Approver who currently has access to Time Administrator code 476 has the authority to approve time with transaction PTMW for this employee as well as change other data as per their authorisation role.

However, the issue we have is that the approver can now also change historical time as well as current time. With historical time here I refer to time before 01.03.2009, thus BEFORE they were the users approver.

I would like to know if there is anything in authorisations that could prevent the approver from changing data of dates BEFORE they were the useru2019s approver?

Any input would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Vedette,

In the timesheet administrator setup there are data entry profiles. These can be found in SPRO>Cross Application>Timesheet--> Data Entry profile. (I am not sure of the path as i dont have a system,)

Every data enry profile has associated with it an Authorization group. and the number of periods/days by which an authorizer can scroll back, Now I am not sure how your Timesheet entry profiles are set up, but I would be tempted to give unique authorization groups to each profile and have those reflected in the roles... It may just work... In the mean time I will try to see if I can comeup with something else...

Best Wishes,

CP

Thanks very much for the response. I will definitely give that a go and let you know if that solves my problem!

Thanks again
