REFX Integration with AutoCAD using Visual Enterprise

Hi: I am looking to integrate REFX with AutoCAD using Visual Enterprise. Please let me know how AutoCAD attributes are mapped to SAP Real estate objects. I need the measurements from AutoCAD drawings to be ported onto SAP REFX objects directly.

Thanks,

Hi Raja:

I am not sure how this happens in the programming, but I can provide an example from AutoCAD perspective how we are able to achieve this. In our AutoCAD dwgs, we use room data blocks, which have attribute tags that are mapped to specific labels that are read during the CAD to SAP synchronization process. To pull the measurements, each room and space on the floor plan has a closed polyline around it along with a data block inside.

The polylines and data block are on specific layers. We use layers and data blocks for rooms, primary and secondary circulation. The layers are important for the mapping. For example: Room poylines are on one layer and the room data block is on its own layer. Data block attributes within the room polyline contain fields for Room Number, Fixture/Fittings, Capacity (you can set-up your block for whatever attributes you want to track) the data is mapped using part of the AOID (Room Number). We also have a title in the drawing that is tagged for the Floor AO, which is important for mapping the dwg and individual room numbers to associate the building and floor in SAP.

How you set your AutoCAD dwg will determine how you create the Visual Enterprise mapping.

Hope this helps.
