We are trying to implement Screen Personas 3.0 in our EHP8 SAP system. We had finished doing all the known configurations, but when we try to test the persona service, its just the normal web gui that gets opened. We are getting an error message as, 'Theme sap_bluecrystalis not compatiablewith render mode Quirks rendering mode'. We have already set the GUI configuration as standards in /persona/admin. We have similar configuration maintained for another SAP system and is working fine with the same browser version. Someone please advise on the possible solutions

Hi Johnson,

Please check whether you have a group policy in your Windows that forces the quirks mode to be used.

I have seen this in some cases already.

You can ask your Windows administrator team whether they have set such policy.

Thank you Chris for your suggestion. We will definitely check with our windows team and surely update you. But if its the policy that causes the issue, do we have any other way or configuration to override the rendering mode, other than changing the policy. Ours is a financial organisation using a wide variety of applications, so changing a security policy may not be easy.

Hi Johnson,

You cannot use Personas with Quirks mode, so the best approach would be to discuss the cons of using Quirks mode (there are so many...). In future SAP releases, Quirks will no longer be supported - the soon you get rid of it, the better.

Apart from that, a more drastic approach would be to change the default browser, to one that runs Standards mode only.
