Migrating SAP Scripts to Adobe Forms

Former Member

Hi All,

We are going for a new Rollout in US based on our European implementation in 2001 which was on

4.6b. Eventually this system was upgrated to ECC 6.0 recently however all the outputs are still using

SAP Scripts.

For the new Rollout in the US, we are planning to migrate all these outputs to Adobe Forms. Does

anyone know if there is an easy way to migrate Scripts to Adobe Forms or else the migration is more

or less like fresh development.

Please share your experiences/knowledge if anyone has worked similarly. Thank you all.

Regards,

Vamsee

Hi,

From ECC 5.0 and ECC 6.0 instead of sap scripts sap has been introduced new concept called ADOBE FORMS. (Transaction code SFP) and these forms have to accessible by the blind people also by using JAWS(JOB ACCESS WEB SPEECH) software.

Instead of Migrating to adobe forms, Newly desing the form in ECC Version, which will good for future purpose also.

Modify Print program also(Like comment all your sap script function modules call the adobe related function modules)

Function modules are

FP_JOB_OPEN

FP_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME(export the form name and import the generated function module)

FM_NAME

FP_JOB_CLOSE

Hi,

there is no easy way to do this. It also is a great lot of work.

Better wait 1 or 2 year untill SAP has made some good working Best Practices and configure them.

Why do the want to change a good working form. If you really want to change:

Are you going to use the ineractive facility of adobe. If you don't use Smartrforms.

Hi All,

Thank you all for your replies.

Frank! To answer to your question, we are a distribution company and deal with medical and research

equipment. Hence, the fancier the better.

Having said that, we also wanted to keep in sync with the latest technology to cater to any of our

future requirements.

We would have to modify these scripts in any case as all over Europe the standard paper used for

printing is A4 and its letter in the US. Though this change may not be huge, we are analyzing to see

the effort involved in developing/migrating to Adobe Forms.

Thanks,

Hi,

migration from script to adobe is a big problem.

dont go for that.

many problems will come after migration, the time to take rectification is more than the development directly.

Thank U
