ECL Viewer + JT causes SAPGUI crash

Hi Guys,

we want to view JT-Files in SAPGUI640 but it will not work on two special machines. On those ones, you can choose a JT-File and while open it the whole SAP GUI crashes without any further error code or information.

These are WIN XP SP2 machines with additional Sican V7.0 R3, Walter TDM Stand 30.09.2003 2.4.0.0, AutoCAD Mechanical 2005 N.63.0, Acronis True Image 11 installed on them.

We did following steps to solve the Problem:

  • Update ECL Viewer to 5.1.3.

  • Reinstall ECL according to Note: 1097432

  • Updated GUI to 710

But after all, we always get the same phenomena. Could you please help?!

Regards

Thorsten Kuhn

Hi.

Looking at the information given by, I suggest to remove the Acronis True Image 11, reinstall ECL viewer 6.0 and then again reinstall Acronis True Image 11.

We experienced similar crashing problem for viewer installed locally and the sap viewer with SAP GUI crashing.

Let us know how it goes.

Hello Tobias,

the XML patch doesn't solve the problem. Any other suggestions?

hi Thorsten,

You may read this Thread:

It´s not the EAI viewer but the error seems to be the same as yours.

Did you try Note 866612?

Are there any logfiles, traces that could help?

Hi,

The current ECL viewer is 6.0, can you try installing ECL viewer 6.0 and GUI 7.1

Hi Anirudh,

thanks for you reply. We tried this combination, but with the same result. On other machines it works with GUI640 an ECL5...

Do you have other suggestions?

Regards,

Thorsten
