Purchase Order With BOM (Components)

Hi Gurus,

We want to create PO with a component list that should be appears under the main item.

The component list is a mterial BOM.

exam:- bom MATERIAL - CATALOG1 (Non Stock Materials)

COMPONENT 1 :-ABCD

COMPONENT 2 :- XYZ.

WHEN I ENTER THE BOM MATERIAL:- CATALOG1 IN /ME21N . Higher-Level Item-

Automatically botom line should be appear component 1 , 2 as a Sub Item.

how to configur this issue..?? Its a standard Ponot Subcontract

Hi Anthyodaya,

One additional remark while creating a BOM, please create it with some date in past, so that you dont get issues while creating a PO.

Hi Reddy,

BOM has to be maintained in CS01 for your material CATALOG1.

Once your raise a PO for ur material, the components will automatically explode in line item Material Data.

This is for Subcontracting if the item category is L.

If it is Standard PO..all the subcomponents for the finished product are maintained by designing team. So once the PO is raised for main item, subsequently with respect to main material the requirement for the sub components also will be raised.

It is maintained in Basic Data1 View>Environment>Product Structure.

This is given for Endproduct by the Design team.

The process is automatic.

it s appear here automatic or we need to enter..? or when we create CS01 only its create automatically ..?

but final when i am doing PO i s not appearing in Sub Item..

can you please explain me the next steps... to get in the PO subitem...

Hi Reddy,

Basic data1 View is not maintained by MM dept, its data is mostly filled by Design team for the end product.

As off my knowledge , Production order for the end product is run in MRP, automatically the components for this end product too will also gets updated for the procurement.

If it is manually then i know item category should be L , afraid again it is subcontracting scenario for ur line components to get display in line item details.

You have to create bom through CS01. When Bom is created used the code in PO with Item Category L .

we need to create Normal PO not Subcontract PO.

we allready created CS01 BOM. but we i am creating PO the components are not appearing in Bottom Sub Item line...

You need to maintain the BOM for the main material >CATALOG1 along with the components in CS01.

Then when you enter the main material in ME21N go to the item level material data click on components then it will take you to the BOM components oveview.

But your requirement is to display in the ME21N line item and that is not possible.Lets' wait for the experts comments if they have come across on this issue.
