MMC could not create the snap-in

Hello All

I hope this is the right section for this post.

I'm running SAP BW 3.1. Recently the server had a package of hotfixes installed (mainly security ones) and since then I cannot run the service in MMC. The "SAP R/3 Systems" section is there but nothing is underneath. The right panel indicates "MMC could not create the snap-in. The snap-in might not have been installed correctly".

Adding the snap-in manually returns the same message.

No "disp+work" process runs.

What should I check?

Thanks in advance for help

Hi

Fixed the problem.

Ran startsapsrv.exe using a saved profile and everything appeared correctly in MMC.

Thanks

Hello

sapmmc.dll first wouldn't register (it returned an error) but after librfc32.dll registered successfully, I managed to register sapmmc.dll also.

I also registered all sapmmc*.dll libraries following the pointed note.

Afterwards I was finally able to add the snap-in but this didn't solve the problem entirely. I entered the instance data and it appeared on the left pane but it's gray and red crossed out. When i try to "Start" it, I receive the message saying:

Cannot connect to SAP Service on <server name>: 80040154

Class not registered.

Any ideas?

Hi

downloaded the latest MMC

Try to register the R/3 MMC Snap-in again using regsvr32 sapmmc.dll.

Please, refer to SAP note 354595

Problem will be with librfc32.dll in windows/system32
