Apply Patch8 to Existing BO 4.2 SP4

Hi All,

We are currently at SAP BO 4.2 SP4 (windows). To enable LDAPS authentication (LDAP to LDAPS), we must be at Patch 8.

Could you please guide me steps to apply only Patch8.

Sharing full navigation path to download the BI 4.2 SP04 Patch 8, here is the full navigation path:

Software Downloads >> Support Packages and Patches >> By Alphabetical Index (A to Z) >> B >> SBOP BI PLATFORM (FORMER SBOP ENTERPRISE) >> SBOP BI PLATFORM (ENTERPRISE) >> SBOP BI PLATFORM 4.2

And after this

you need to choose the "SBOP BI PLATFORM SERVERS 4.2" for patches on BI Platform Server,

you need to choose the "SBOP BI PLATFORM CLIENTS 4.2" for patches on BI Platform Clients

etc.

for example if you choose "SBOP BI PLATFORM SERVERS 4.2",

then you need to choose right OS option from the drop down list, for Windows you need to choose "WINDOWS ON X64 64BIT",

Then select the

"SBOP BI Platform Servers 4.2 SP04 Patch 8 - Update 1/2" (BIPLATS4204P_8-80001044_P1.EXE)

&

"SBOP BI Platform Servers 4.2 SP04 Patch 8 - Update 2/2" (BIPLATS4204P_8-80001044_P2.RAR)

and download them,

These two files need to be placed at the same folder.

These two are the multi-spanning files of the BI Platform 4.2 SP04 Patch 8 patch package, as the package size has exceeded the max size limit of shipment platform, hence it creates the multi-spanning files.

To extract the files, run the first part i.e. "BIPLATS4204P_8-80001044_P1.EXE", that will automatically considers the second part i.e. "BIPLATS4204P_8-80001044_P2.RAR" as the exe is a self-extracting archive.

I copied .EXE and .RAR files to same folder, as you mentioned i executed .EXE as admin it combined .RAR contents and rather than creating a folder it directly when to installation.

I suppose it should first extract them to folder then we will run setup.exe

Download 4.2 SP4 Patch 8 and install it. You'll find the patch in the launchpad under Software Downloads >> Support Packages and Patches >> By Alphabetical Index (A to Z) >> B >> SBOP BI PLATFORM (FORMER SBOP ENTERPRISE) >> SBOP BI PLATFORM (ENTERPRISE) >> SBOP BI PLATFORM 4.2 >> INSTALLATION AND UPGRADE. Make sure you have the correct OS selected at the top of the screen.

You install this like any other BOBJ SP or Patch install.
