MRP RUN Produces Many Orders

Dear Friend

After doing MRP Run ( that we pursue begining of eath moth), we are getting single orders for all of our finished materials for which we created independent requirement. But for the semi finished materials for which no independent requirement is made we are getting many planned orders after MRP Run.

We want only one planned order to be generated after MRP RUN the semi finished materials as well. Can you tell me what is to be done for it?

I have all ready maintained the following in materials :

a. MRP1: Lot Size: MB : Monthly Lot

b. MRP3: Strategy Group: 10, Make to Stock

c. MRP4: Requirement type: 2, Collective Requirement ( We all ready maintained them)

2. We deleted all old planned orders by choosing the planning mode as u201C3u201D during MRP RUN

3. We delete all planned orders in group

4. We need to delete old independent requirements for each material:

Is there any relationship between, Consumption mode/ Forward production priod/ back ward production prd in MRP3 with the creation of production order?

Check in MRP1 view for maximum lot size, value is maintain for this field or not.

Thanks for your response. I have not maintaind maximum lot size. Should I need to maintain it both finished and semi finished materials? I will revert once run mrp for the next month.

For all Semifinished and ROH material pls maintain lot size as MB then run MRP with planning mode 3 and check the result.

Hi,

If not maintain then no problem.But if it is there then system will creates the no. of plan orders each equal to that maximum lot size except last one (depends on the required qty).

I want to get rid of the trouble to genration of mutiple planned orders after MRP RUN. Here you asked me not to maintain maximum quantity in MRP1?

have you maintained any distribution key in the BOM of the finished material in the Item detail screen of the Semi finished material?

Hi Chandra,

I have seen your screen shots.But Planned orders are not seen in any of the screen shots, because you had already delete them just after MRP run.I can see only some order reservations and stock lies in subcontractor end in MD04.

So send screen shot of MD04 just after MRP run without deleting plan orders or send screen shot of MD05.

Please check in your semifinished and raw material whether u have mentioned the rounding value in material master of MRP 1 VIEW.

No we have not maintained any distribution key in cs01, item details, for components and no rounding value in mrp1.

But still getting many orders!!

Dear,

Please use the creation indicator as planned order indicator -3 while doing the planning run SAY in MD02.

Lot Sizing Procedure : MB.

All the requirements of the for the entire month are clubbed together and forms a lot
