Hi all,

I am new to CRM,we are extracting CRM Services data to BW,but before executing we just checking at RSA3,but it giving some error like infosource/infoobject was not supported. Its true,we have checked in Tcode BWA5 the CRM datasource which we are extracting was not in active.

With few forums we come to knw that datasource can be activated in BWA1,but while if give datasource there to copy its giving like "the datasource say XXXX cant be edited with this transaction".

Can any one tell me what would be the reason for this, with few forums i come to know about bdocs have to be maintained at BW adapter level.

Can any give inputs how would i solve the datasource issue?

Can any one give me information about BW Adapter?

How Bdocs will play a role in extracting CRM datasouces to BWside.

your inputs will be appreciated.

Regards,

Praveena.

Hi Praveena

You can get overall information on BW adapter on help.sap.com site.

Here is the same

The BW Adapter

Purpose

The BW Adapter extracts data into the SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW).

It is called up as part of the flows for the following BDoc types:

u2022 sBDoc types for synchronizing the consolidated database (CDB) and the mobile clients

u2022 mBDoc types for the message flow within the CRM server

With the appropriate BDoc type, the BW Adapter extracts the following objects into the SAP BW:

u2022 CRM business transactions (mBDoc)

u2022 Documents for CRM billing (mBDoc)

u2022 Other objects that are only relevant for mobile clients, such as Chemical Market Potentials (sBDoc)

Implementation Considerations

You first have to execute the initialization of the delta process to transfer from CRM and into SAP BW all data that can be extracted using a DataSource. This step only has to be performed the first time round.

Integration

The initialization of the delta process occurs without integration to CRM Middleware. Only the delta is transferred to SAP BW with subsequent extractions. This delta is determined using CRM Middleware and, in the case of a delta upload, transferred to SAP BW using the Service API, the standard interface in SAP BW for source systems.

Features

The BW Adapter translates the BDoc data into a structure compatible with SAP BW, that is, into an extraction structure of a DataSource. In this way, the data can be extracted as usual into SAP BW. For information on extracting data from source systems into SAP BW, choose SAP NetWeaver ®Release u201904 ® Information Integration
