In a system copy, can the SP levels of source and target be different?

We have a source system which is JAVA only NW04s SP14.

We have a target system which is JAVA only NW04s SP09.

Do we have to update our target to NW04s SP14 before doing the system copy?

I think that we do not have to.

Do you agree?

Thanks! Pint guaranteed.

Hi ,

You are right,

Source system tables will over right the target system tables as the system copy clones a source system to target system. In precise When you perform a system copy, all software units or usage types in the source system are copied to the target system.

Thank you,

Shyam

Hi,

You need not bother about SP level's but if you are doing homogeneous system copy then you have to bother abt same OS and DB.

Support pack levels will create issues when you are going to Perform Remote client copy.

Hi,

System copy means copy the full DB from source to target system, so it doesn't matter if SP are defferent.

Here must be same version of database and same version of patch for database.

Best regards,

Peter
