can anyone tell me the meaning of lot size type w2???

i want the meaining of even ex , i want to give lot size type ex for which the materials wants to be closed!!!!

In period lot-sizing procedures, the requirement quantities from one or from several periods are grouped together to form a lot. The SAP System supports various periods. You can determine the number of periods which are to be grouped together into an order proposal.

lot-for-lot order quantity, when you want to procure the exact lot size again.

You have TO set the indicator EX for lot-for-lot order quantity in the Lot size field in the material

master (MRP 1 view) for the material.

When planning using lot-for-lot order quantity, the system uses the exact shortage quantity

(requirement minus available stock) as the order quantity in the case of a material shortage.

Planning is carried out daily. The system groups requirement quantities from the same day

together in one procurement proposal.

i understood the meaning of lot size type EX but i am unable to understand about w2, actually the material which i want to procure i dont want it on daily basis or weekly basis . so i may need the material 2 or 3 times in a week!!

so can i choose w2 as lot size type!!!

I am not very sure on this but I think lot size 2w would be more appropriate to meet your requirement than W2 (week-2)
