How to create a bw datasource through XML file

Hi All,

I have checked the how to document but that is written for bw3.0 version. I wonder if there is any step by step guide for bw 7.4 onwards.

There are so many blogs available related to this but all are intended to bw 3.0.

XML data sources, Can be pull based or can it only be consumed via Web services?

Not able to create xml datasource even after searching so many blogs since all seem to be created for crystal report.

Hi Bhavin,

Thanks for guiding me since nobody was replying I lost my hope to get even hint but

I think your guidance is going into right direction.

I Tried to Configure a webservice datasource with the help of first link you provided.

Created the DS and Infopackage but stuck to the last part of blog which talks about web navigatgor.

Wonder how it will fetch data through an xml file or webservice.

Honestly, I haven't used this functionality but I got to know new functionality in the BW space while searching for the issue you raised here.

Further what I found is,

Web-service datasources works on Push-service mechanism. Unlike other data sources in BW, Web-services enabled datasource pushes the data from external system. BW don't pull the data in such case.
