Launching BI Report Transaction in CRM 2007

Hi All,

I have a requirement of Launching a BI Custom Report Transaction from CRM Web UI.

I am aware that this can be done using Transaction Launcher.

I have a doubt whether a BSP application needs to be created to do this or there is no need to this.

Also, is there anything to be done at the Target system ?

Can any SAP GUI Front End Transaction from any system be launched from CRM 2007 Web UI ?

(without using a Portal).

Please advise.

Regards,

Masood Imrani S.

Dear friend,

Here in our CRM project we have launched some BW reports through CRM 2007 with transaction laucher.

First we created at tcode SM59 a connection between CRM and BW, and then we configured at transaction laucher the links for the reports. BW team already had passed for us the address link for the reports. It is important to say the address link for the reports change, when the system change, because in the address link there is the web server name and port, so it is necessary re-configure t. laucher in each system (DEV, QUAL, PROD). Depend on you configuration at SM59 user will must enter again their user and password to log into BW, but it is possible to configure at SM59 single signon.

At t. laucher you can launch any std sapgui tcode, here we launch lots of them, but tcode Y or Z must be configurated as BSP compatible, but I dont have more details about this because our abap team usually do this.

You can launch any sapgui in any system, all of them must the set up at SM59, but it is very important to say that, t. laucher user ITS to lauch sapgui transaction in the web, so, if you configure a gui transaction that lots of user call it, you will have problem with web server performance and memory.

Check out this blog about t. launcher

Check out this message too.

Good luck !
