Hey,
I want to use Serial Numbers with Handling Unit Management in WM.
I want to use MIGO to GR a Purchase Order and then Auto Pack the Inbound Delivery.
I also want to be able to Auto Pack the HU's with the Serial Numbers that i enter into the WM tab of the MIGO transaction.
I post the GR of my PO and get my inbound delivery. The delivery is Packed onto an HU ... BUT the serial numbers i enter are not present in the HU ?!?
Does anyone know if this is possible via MIGO? or is this available only when receiving IM deliveries??
thanks,
Adam.
Hello,
How does you are creating inbound delivery after good receipt?Do you get ASN from vendor?
The scenario which I worked is as below. You can implement the same.
1.Inbound delivery will be created with HU details after you receive ASN from vendor.
2.When inbound delivery is created it will pack with HU.
3.After material is received physically you can PGR the inbound delivery either scanning HU or doing post good receipt(PGR).This will post IM stock. Also system will create transfer order in WM.
4.Regarding serial numbers , serials numbers get assigned during inbound delivery creation if serial profile is active.
Hope this input help you.

Hi Prashant,
The scenario is:
1. We use MIGO to create an Inbound Delivery.
2. The Inbound Delivery is Automatically Packed BUT serial numbers that i enter into the "Serial Numbers" tab in MIGO are NOT copied into the Delivery/Handling Units.
3. Therefore i have to manually use transaction VL32N to go into the Pack Screen and add these to the Handling Units.
This is my question. Can i use MIGO to enter Serial Numbers (during goods receipt for a PO) and then see these copied into an HU in the inbound delivery? If so, what are the specific configuration settings?
thanks,
A
WILSAQ,
Yes serial nos are maintained for HUM and can also be used for MIGO. You Check the customizing screen as follows.
IMG --> Plant Maint. and Cust Service --> Master Data in plant Maintain & cust service --> Technical Objects --> Serial no Management -->
Check
1. Define Serial Numbers
2. Define Serialization Attributes for movement type --> Assignment of Movement Type Group to Movement Type
3. Field selection for multi level list display of serial numbers
and check the other customization in his same header you have a solution

In the serial number profile check the different options. You can control serial numbers on goods movement, production, sales or with Handling units etc. Based on your requirement make the proper selection.
If you select only goods movement then at the time of PGI/PGR serial numbers will be required. Whereas, if handling units are selected then you can assing serial numbers to handling units in the packing screen in the delivery.
Hope this helps. Good luck !

Hi
As far as my knowledge is consernrd you can assign serial numbers in Delivery while packing in "Ttl content" tab. Select item & click serial numbers tab, Aotomatically assign serial numbers. But I understand you are doing directly MIGO after PO. Then how are you getting delivery? Can you share your process to us?

Hi Nagesh,
The process will be to use transaction MIGO for all goods receipts, therefore i would like to automate the Inbound Delivery Create AND pack process so that we minimise the amount of user input.
Once we have entered the GR for the PO i want to automatically do the following:
1) Create the inbound delivery (which the system does because the item is going into an HU managed storage location).
2) Pack the inbound delivery (which the system does because i set the Delivery Type to 'Auto Pack')
3) Assign entered Serial Numbers to the HU - which at the moment is not happening.
I thought that by entering the Serial Numbers in the 'Serial Numbers' tab in transaction MIGO that these would be copied into the HU but this is not happening ?!?
(NB: I have serialisation procedure MMSL: Maintain goods receipt and issue doc. - set on my serial number profile).
We do not want to go into the Inbound Delivery and manually assign the serial numbers as this adds complexity and is time consuming for the User.
thanks,
A
Hi,
you can assign serial numbers to the HU during creation of the inbound delivery. During GR, the serial numbers are copied to IM. Other way around, so entering them in IM through MIGO will not copy the serial numbers to the HU (i.e. no HU's available in MIGO).
I've used an enhancement point to copy the serial numbers from IM to the HU. I might even have details, but need to look up.
