Marketing Letter Campaign

Hi All

We need to print letter as result of a campaign, but in CRM 2007 we don't find a Letter Channel, in previous versions i remember that we selected a channel Letter and then we selected a print profile, Does someone know how in this version we can do this?

Hi,

unfortunately the letter form functionality has been removed in CRM 2007 which has been officially documented and there is no alternative as such.

One alternative option could be to set up a campaign with the type file export and make usage of the mail form. By inserting and saving all attributes you would be able to add some text to it too. You are than able to execute the campaign with file export and than print it. There will be also activity record generated for each customer.

Hi Marcus,

SAP is also providing the channel BP preferred method. Our customer would like to use BP preferred method to send out email, fax and letters. As the channel letter is not provided anymore, how can I make sure that these BP with that communication method maintained are in the csv. file for the file export?

I was just going through our CRM6 (2007) configuration process and completed CRM1.2007 Best Practices - C22_BB_ConfigGuide_EN_DE.doc and I think you should review section 3.3.5 for an expanded answer to what Marcus eluded to.

Step 3.3.5.3 specifically, as at the end of it is this statement:

Now you have created two new communication channels:

u2022 E-mail execution that generates marketing outbound activities in parallel to the e-mail sending process itself.

u2022 Open channel execution that generates and export file with address data. This file can be used as an input file for letter generation.

Hi,

as an alternative, you could create a smart forms print action, and assign it to an the activity transaction type, which in turn is assigned in the communication method.

When the the activities are created as an output of the campaing, the letters would be generated as well.
