We are implementing S/4 HANA CFIN and need to map CO-PA characteristics. We can define field-to-field mapping in the IMG, but can't figure out how/where to map actual field values in user defined fields (WWxxx).
Does anybody have experience in this field and can help with some pointers? If we need to add them as customer fields, how do we do that - the data elements do not seem to be available.

Hi,
Agree with Sanil that where possible derive attributes based on information you have on S/4 such as customer and material. However this is not practical in all cases, in such instances you can configure your own key mapping object and then set it up it the CFINIMG > Advanced Settings > Define Mapping Entities (Enhanced Configuration). Here you tell SAP what field on the interface that will use the key mapping entity (Define Mapped Fields (Customer)).
Thanks

Hi
I had a similar scenario, where the billing documents has custom characteristics. The source system had Costing based COPA and in target system of CFIN, we had account based COPA. There were characteristics like Brand, Season, Flavour etc which were custom characteristics. In our cases, they were dependent on Material master and Product Hierarchy. So rather than looking for field to field mapping in CFIN, we wrote derivation rule in KEDR. I would strongly suggest to look at specific data requirements and see if you can create derivation rules in COPA. If not, look at which fields are bare minimum required for you to fetch from source system so that you can trigger the KEDR Rules.
Thanks & regards
