Dear All.

i am extracting the data from R/3 for infosource 2LIS_13_VDITM and during extraction it fails due to this single record which is marked as error.

Value 'Erste Hilfe ' (hex. ' ') of characteristic 0MATERIAL contains invalid character

when i check the record in the PSA in Material field instead of Material number this value was there i.e.

Erste Hilfe.

you advice to resolve this issue and tip on cleansing will be highly appreciated

Kind regards,

Zeeshan

The problem is the space blank in the middle of Erste Hilfe you must make a routine in the transfer rule for eliminate the space ....i think this could solve the problem....

Hi,

In the error message mentioned, Material code seem to contain lower case characters.

Is 0MATERIAL InfoObject, made 'Lower Case' Enabled?

If not, make the object lower case enabled or you can change the transformation of Material to convert in-coming material code to upper case.

Hope this helps!

Hi,

In RSMO, you get clearly the DataPacket number and record number, so take that details and then goto PSA in the same screen RSMO and thesn select the DataPacket no and then giv ethe number of records display is give the number of records that are there in that DataPacket and then See the data an dcheck for the invalied char in 0MATERIAL. it will apper. If you want to edit it, first you need to delete the data in Cube and then edit in PSA, other wise it won't allow to edit the data in PSA.

Thanks

Hello,

you are not able to edit it because that request is already loaded to some target.

delete that request from all the targets which got loaded from that PSA and then edit it and then only it will work.

Thanks

Dear Ajeet.

it works fine thanks but again when i edit the record manually and remove the space between material name and after editing i try to update the data target from the PSA again the same error comes but this time the record number is change

Value 'Erste Hilfe ' (hex. ' ') of characteristic 0MATERIAL contains invalid character.

but guess what when i goto edit the record this record is not containing the value Erste Hilfe instead it contain L-80Y thats mean BW is showing wrong error messaging.

if you think that this problem can be solve using transfer/update rule please guide me for that.

kind regards,

You mean when the data is again extracted you are getting this error in PSA correct .

If its second time during extraction you are getting the error with the difference in the reocrd exactly what its showing

Then what i suggest is if its ok with the business delete the records in the PSA table if all other records are successfully updated .

Then again extract the data in the datasource after deleting the request from the target .

Before doind please verify the records in the data base table .

I am sure update transfer rules will not work out here as its noting to do here .

Assign marks is the best way to apprecaite help

Hello,

Seems there is some garbage values or space at the end of the string.

Try to delete this value in PSA and retype the same string again so that space at the end is gone and then do the data loads.

Also it should be maintained in capitals since the system will give an error with small case.

Thanks

Check if the document in R3 have the same material code....i think that the user use a manual entry for material, in this case you can add a validation rule in the transformation for replace the value for another generic code or simply let it blank....

The problem is that this string have a space blank in the middle and the validation of Material codes found that blank and it results in an error....

Hi ,

To Edit the record in PSA, you need to delete the request in the target. After deleting the request, edit the invalid record and then upolad the request from PSA to target.

Thanks,

Mohan

Did you the same billing document in R/3? May be it has that value.

You have to ask the business users who are responsible for the invoice maintainance on R/3 system to correct it so that u can pick it in next delta...

Or

U can change the value in PSA and load further into Data target.
