We had to restore our system and now our system will not start - Job log error

O4STRSAP: Could not retrieve instance/system configuration for instance 32

of system PAP on host prdapo from directory "/usr/sap/trans/config/PAP".

O4STRSAP: Starting instance 32 of system PAP on host prdapo is not

These are the steop taken:

Restore the (4) R3 libraries that are backed up on a daily basis from the 2/21 tape

R3PAPDATA, R3PAP400, R3400, R3SYS

Restore 2 IFS directories

/SAPMNT, /USR/SAP

RSTAUT (restore authorities)

Delete SQL packages (again)

Reclaim Stirage (*dbxref)

IPL of PRDAPO partition

SCM 4.1 on 640 kernel

Iseries - V5R4

Hi Brian,

You need to make sure that the files PRDAPO_32.CFG and SYSTEM.CFG are present in /usr/sap/trans/config/PAP. These files should contain the Instance Host and other info needed to start SAP.

If you have your usr/sap/trans configured to point to another machine, you need to create the /QFileSvr.400/ directory for that other machine.

Also, make sure that all the relevant user ids and passwords are on both machines as well.

Operations did clear prior to the restore and wiped out the /sapmnt/trans directory on the development system -
