Hi Kumar,

Base qty :- Is the Qty for which values in BOM,Routing and Master Recipe are maintained.

Lot Size :- We can say its a Qty for which Order is created.

For example you have created Routing with Base Qty of 100 Nos.

Now to Manufacture this 100 Nos Machine time is required 1 Hr.

Now for 1000 Nos of Lot qty system will calculate the Activity timings considering the Base qty.

That is

= 1Hr X Lot Qty/Base Qty

= 1 Hr X 1000 Nos / 100 Nos.

= 10 Hr.

Hi,

start time - 07:00:00
end time - 07:00:00
breaks - 03:00:00

This will makes the available capacity of your workcenter as 21 hrs/Day.Means your machine is available for 21 hrs / Day.

But this will not consider for calculating Activity times. So if your MC time for routing is 8 hrs than it will not considers the 1 hr as break time. You will find the activity time as 8 hrs only.

Dear Kumar,

Also apart from the shift timings and break timings,if you want the system to consider the break for

scheduling means, include the check box for scheduling with breaks in OPU3 for planned order and

OPU5 for production order.

First include the check box and carry out a MRP and check the timings in the planned order and then

remove the check box and re run MRP and find out the timing difference.

in routing i am giving activity time (i.e)

machine time as- 21 hrs

Dear,

Do you have any set up time?

In OPU3 did u mark for scheduling with breaks?

start time - 07;00;00

end timing - 07;00;00

breaks - 03;00;00

Please provide these details of work center.

Capacity utilization ?

No. of indiv. cap.?

Operating time?Capacity ?

Or Also just try with Length of breaks 00:00:00 and check.

Dear,

Just remove the break time from work center and check? You will come to know how scheduling take palce as per the available capcity. If capcity is avaliable 21 hrs out of 24 in day including break then order will complete at the end of the day only.

Please try and come back.

Hi Kumar,

tart time - 07;00;00
end timing - 07;00;00
breaks - 03;00;00

lot size -1

so total it's coming as 24 hrs

I have tested it end result which I got is, system will by default considers (whether Break time is included or not in OPU3/OPU5) break time in scheduling. So result which you gets is match with my results. But as I had said earlier Activity time remains 21 Hrs only. But as per your work center Break time system adds the 3 Hrs as Break time and there for total scheduled time comes as 24 Hrs.

Dear,

Base qty and lot size are the different functionality. Lot size use for selection of routing say you have two routing 11000 lot size and another with 1000-999999 so according to your order quantity system will pick up the routing and will proceed the operations.

Base quantity is use to calculate the routing timing say to manufacture the 10 qty we required 5 min set up and 15 min of machine like that. so we define the timing in proporion of base qty.

Hope clear to you,
