Back ground mode in BDC

Hi Experts,

I am using 1 BDC to upload MDQ and NWC data in mm42.

This BDC is working fine in foreground mode but it is not updating in background mode.

Why this is happening and how to resolve it.

Try it in Error mode. It will stop at error point.

your getting any error. check in SM35 tcode....

See if u have to manually click any keys while creating in foreground mode.

Or make use of synchronous mode .

Hi,

If you are working through presentation server back ground mode doesnot work(gui_upload)

if you are working through application server it will run in background mode(open Dataset)

Hi,

I have changed the mode from background to error mode.

Now I am getting error that the group data for 1st article (in the text file that is being uploaded ) is locked by user MAPABAP (thats me) .

How to solve this?

Hi,

U might have opened group data in change mode in another session. Close all change mode sessions and execute ur program. It will work fine.

U can check the locks in transaction SM12 by clicking on the LIST button.

Hi,

First thing we can't upload / download data from PC to program in background mode. Since you are running program in background, there will not be any interface established with PC. So upload your data to Application server using DATASETS then download from there.
