Variance Settlement

Hi,

I have configured Variance Variant and checked all types of variances.

Now, When a particular production order is confirmed, the input quantity has differed from the standard.

Ideally this difference should be calculated as Input Quantity Variance.

However, it is reflected as Remaining Input Variance.

Based on the help, remaining input variance is calculated only when settings for other variance categories is not maintained.

Can anyone let me know the reason why system is considering remaining input variance instead of input quantity variance?

Hi, As you aware Input quantity variances are effected by differences between the planned and actual consumption quantities of materials and activities. As you said that your example has this difference between planned quantity and actual quantity of input materials. In addition, turn on the Material origin indicator in the costing view of the master record of all materials that have a large influence on your costs. Then try and let me know if the issue is not resolved. Trust this helps much! Cheers!
