Hi
I am using BI 7.0 to generate queries, actually we have 7 queries placed in EP as a Dashboard.now we have to broadcast all the 7 queries as a single mail..can any one tell me the procedure of doing it..i actually searched the forum also...but couldnt get the right solution.
Hi,
Insert all your queries into one workbook and distribute that workbook in single file (zip) & Mail.

actually till this i am able to do ..but after this the procedure for broadcasting would be how..where should i enter the e-mail address..i want that procedure too please...actually in BI 7.0 Administration----- Broadcasting tab we can send it that way also rite..can u give me the procedure of this alos if possible..
Hi,
Ask basis people to resolve that . Ask them to check the services(stop or start) or precalserver installed properly or not.
If all works fine then follow these steps for broadcasting :
Open your workbook>tools>distribute workbook-->it will open in new window(internet explorer). there you can see the create settings for new one. if it is allready existing just select that --> in down you can see 3 tabs.
in 1st tab you can give E-mail ids which you want to broadcast the report. and also you need to slect output format of the report as excel file and also check the check box as zip file.
in 2nd tab you can provide subject line and information do you want to pass to the users.
in 3rd tab you can give variables by clicking on CHANGE.
finally you can schedule it in background.
You can check finnaly in SOST t-code for E-mail status.

Hi shilpa,
Precalculation server is a software that you need to download from service.sap.com. Make sure that you have installed the latest version of software. Here is the path for the latest version of this software, but you need to have SAP Gui 7.10 for this. Go to service.sap.com, then
Downloads u2192 Support Packages and Patches u2192 SAP FrontEnd Components u2192 BI AddOn for SAP Gui
The one with the recent date is the latest version of Prec server.
Then you need to install it on any machine that you can access via your LAN, it can be a client machine or a server machine. How ever to install this software, you need to have Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 with service pack 2.
hope this helps.
if you have further queries, please don't hesitate to ask.

Sree.
hi,
I am sorry, I forgot to mention something else as well.
After all the prerequisites are met, and after the latest precalc server software is installed, go to transaction RSPRECADMIN, and create a server here, If it's status still shows red,
goto
Run - > services.msc -> SAP BW precalculation server. Right click and go to properties, check the box that says "Allow this service to interact with the desktop" and then restart it.
Now refresh your RSPRECADMIN screen. It should work.
If it still doesn't, you will have to check whether the system on which you have loaded the Precalculation server software has all the prerequisites. In such cases, I would recommend you to choose some other system, (would recommend you to have XP installed on that machine). Install the .NET framework 2.0 SP 2,
follow the same procedure again.

hi shilpa,
The settings would be the same for Web application Designer, Query designer, BEx analyzer. Once you are able to execute the query on to web, you can use any of these. So I am afraid you won't be able to broadcast using WAD untill you have your query broadcaster up and running.
What's exactly happening, have your basis people installed the PreCalculation server?, what status does it show?
If its still RED, ask them to install the Software on some other machine that has .NET framework 2.0.

hi,
Its actually a bit complicated to execute a query via WAD, you will have to create a web template first, then choose the desired query, and then execute it on the web. The way to execute a query would be via a query designer.
About the status of the precalculation server, Even I faced the same problem. read the previous threads posted by me. you will get the results. Delete the current Prec server in RSPRECADMIN.
Are you able to execute the query on the web. If Yes, are you able to broadcast the same query?
Lets go in a step by step manner, I am sure we would be able to solve the problem. I have faced these problems and I know how irritating it can be. Thats the reason I am trying to help u out.
