Hi there,
I am trying to customize the CUP , we have installed and CUP an also uplaoded the Instialization data
and created connectors .
and I would like to know if we need to perform any steps before I start doing the Pre work flow config as per confifg guide
Initializing System Data
Defining Connectors
Request Configuration
Number Ranges
Authentication Source for Requestors
Defining Authentication
Defining Multiple LDAP Authentication
Configuring Risk Analysis
Configuring Mitigation
Defining End User Personalization
Defining Support Screen information
Defining Role Attributes
Configuring Application Approvers
Defining SMTP Server Identification
Step 2: Workflow Configuration
Complete the workflow configuration tasks in the following order.
Creating an Initiator
Defining a Stage
Creating Main Paths
Adding Detours to a Main Path
Defining Auto Provisioning
Step 3: Post-Workflow Configuration
Complete the post-workflow configuration tasks in any order.
Configuring a Service Level
Configuring User Defaults
Defining Password Self Service
Setting Up Background Jobs
Creating Custom Fields
2.And also I guess its imperative that I do the field mapping for LDAP , if not I wont be able to search for users etc.
3.unable to import the file for business process ( for role attributes) it says action failed ,Iam forced import as I cannot return any value if I make a search on role approver ( I guess this is coz LDAP mapping is not done yet) configured LDAP as data source.
4. when I click on request access it asks me to log in and my authetication is failing , I tied network Password and access controls password too but still I wouldnt get in.
Please comment ?
Regards
Keith
Hi Keith,
Please make sure that while creating the LDAP connector, you have given the complete User Path and Group path. You need to drill down the complete directory structure till the LDAP User Id and provide the same in User Path field.
The authentication issue should be resolved if your connector set up is appropriate. For searching data from LDAP, yes you will need to do the LDAP mapping first.
What is teh error that you are getting now while trying to import business processes?

Hi Harleen
My LDAP connection is all good , connection is succesful
here is what I got for
User path :DC=unity
Group path :OU=EP6,OU=SAP,OU=Global Resources Europe,DC=europe,DC=unity
I have not yet imported roles form the back end, but I was trying to define Role attributes
I could only get as far as Compnay , functional area ,application area but when I tried importing a file for Business Process , it says action failed.

Keith
Hi Keith,
1. You need to do follow to setup workflow :
Create Connectors
Import Roles from SAP system ( connector created above ) / or upload from file.
Create number range
Create Priority
setup Datasource
Setup Authentication
Setup Security lead approver.
Setup SMTP server
Setup Support details
Create initiator
Create stages
Create Path
Setup Risk Analysis .
These are basic essential steps to start WF .
Rest all depends on whether you have to use that particular functionality or not . They are not mandatory essential configurations. They r just peanut butter to make your AE bread taste better but not once without which you can use AE.
2.And also I guess its imperative that I do the field mapping for LDAP , if not I wont be able to search for users etc.
Answer: If you are going to use LDAP as authentication system and User data source then you are required to do this mapping otherwise for SAP , SAP Hr and SAP UME , this step can be skipped.
3.unable to import the file for business process ( for role attributes) it says action failed ,Iam forced import as I cannot return any value if I make a search on role approver ( I guess this is coz LDAP mapping is not done yet) configured LDAP as data source.
Answer: Make sure you have consistant naming of business process/subprocess /functional area ) in AE and same exists in the upload file . The names are case sensitive , the names in description fields must match as well.
4. when I click on request access it asks me to log in and my authetication is failing , I tied network Password and access controls password too but still I wouldnt get in
Answer : If you are using SAP UME , SAP HR , SAP system in your authentication , it wud ask you to login . End user verification is required for these systems . You can avoid this for LDAP , by unselecting the check box : end user verification required in authentication tab.
Let me know if you have further questions.

Hi Venky and Jasmin thanks to both of you for the pointers you have given me !!!
Jasmine & Venky
I have followed the config guide sequence of configuration ( pre work flow)
I have not imported the roles yet
and I have LDAP down as both data source and authetication system and I have unticked the authertication box
but now when I try to click on the request access I am asked to just put in the login ID( no password) and still it says user credentials not valid and it says ''use networkID to login'' but it wouldnt take it.
I think it wont let me create request until the LDAP mapping is done.
I am still not able to import the Business process template , I have made sure that i filled the fields very carefully
Regard
keith
Hi Keith,
1. a. Import the AE roles from the installation file to LDAP (i.e. Authentication System)
b. Assign AEadmin role to an admin user, as this user will be used in future configuration.
2. In order to get results when you search for the users, you should add one system as 'Search Data Source'.
Login as an administrator> Goto Configuration>Click on User Data Source>Select Data source Type as LDAP> For System Name, select the System name from the dropdown available.
If your Data Source Type is LDAP, you should do LDAP mapping to get results.
Now CUP takes the system into consideration when you search for the users.
3. This can be because of more than one reason like length of the data, not populating the required fields. For searching purposes you need to have LDAP mapping done.
4. Make sure that you are entering the same user name that exists in the Authentication system you gave.
Authentication System's information can be found from this path:
Login as an Administrator> Click on Configuration Tab> Click on Authentication-->Check the values Authentication System, System Name and User Authentication.
LDAP mapping is required for this also.
Regards,
Venky.
