Assign cost centre to different company code

Hi,

my client is requesting that a cost centre which has been assigned to company code "A" since go live to be assign to company code "B" from start of current financial year.

Please can anyone advise if this is a) possible, b) how to do & c) any implications

Hello,

In case if any of the transaction data actuals or planned posted, then during the fiscal year it is not possible to change the organizational elements such as company code on a cost center master.

Only during the next year (where no transaction data has been entered), then you can change it.

Hi, guy

1) i think it is possible.

2)Create a same name costcent through KS01, but attend the Valid From When you create the same name costcent.

3)When you run the costcent report, you have to attend the amount of the costcent are from 2 company code.

To answer your query.

1) No its not possible.

2)Reason Cost center is assigned to a company code so it cannot be changed.

If you dont have a chance and client is insisting you can try the option of using Substitution.

It should be some thing like this.IF company code is so and so and the cost center is so and so replace the other cost center with the one you want to use.

Doing this is not advisable as the data of postings to cost centers will be not correct and true.
