    • SAP is a name of software product, it's a company name too. SAP system is good and wise system which is developed base on ERP concept!

    Hi Selva,

ERP is a generic word which is the product type. SAP is the original product name of SAP.

SAP is the product name which is developed by SAP AG. and which is an ERP package.

Different types of ERP products are there in market. SAP is one of them.

    Regards

    Hi Selva,

Adding on to what has been shared earlier,

Starting in the late 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s new software systems known in the industry as enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems have surfaced in the market targeting mainly large complex business organizations. These complex, expensive, powerful, proprietary systems are offthe-

shelf solutions requiring consultants to tailor and implement them based on the companyu2019s requirements. In many cases they force companies to reengineer their business processes to accommodate the logic of the software modules for streamlining data flow throughout the organization. These software solutions, unlike the old, traditional in-house-designed companyspecific systems, are integrated multi-module commercial packages suitable for tailoring and adding u201Cadd-onsu201D as and when required. Before ERP there were system such as MRP-1 and MRP-2. ERP as such itself is a generic term and you can find many ERP systems in the market such as SAP, Oracle, Peoplesoft, Microsoft Dynamics etc.

    ===========================================================================

SAP was founded in 1972 in Walldorf, Germany. It stands for Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing. Over the years, it has grown and evolved to become the world premier provider of client/server business solutions for which it is so well known today. The SAP R/3 enterprise application suite for open client/server systems has established a new standards for providing business information management solutions.

SAP product are consider excellent but not perfect. The main problems with software product is that it can never be perfect.

The main advantage of using SAP as your company ERP system is that SAP have a very high level of integration among its individual applications which guarantee consistency of data throughout the system and the company itself.

    Hope this helps you.

    Rgds

      Hi

SAP stands for System Application Program

and ERP stands for enterprise resouce planning

ERP (enterprise resource planning) is an industry term for the broad set of activities that helps a business manage the important parts of its business. The information made available through an ERP system provides visibility for key performance indicators (KPIs) required for meeting corporate objectives. ERP software applications can be used to manage product planning, parts purchasing, inventories, interacting with suppliers, providing customer service, and tracking orders. ERP can also include application modules for the finance and human resources aspects of a business. Typically, an ERP system uses or is integrated with a relational database system.

where as once SAP has been implemented it includes different modules like FICO, BW, Basis Etc
