Split File Error!

Howdy. I am practicing installing BPC 7.0 on a development box to ensure that our eventual production upgrade will go smoothly.

I've followed the upgrade document by uninstalling BPC 5.1 and installing BPC 7.0.

I have a fresh client on which I installed the new administration client. I connect to this development server, open dimension library, click on time, click maintain dimension property, and then modify dimension property. But an error pops up that says:

Split File Error!!

Cannot save member sheet to the server; do you want to save it to the local machine?

None of my searches have turned up a thing. Any ideas on what to look at?

Apparently this was caused by some problem with the client, because I connected from a different machine and I didn't get this error, or another I was seeing. Doesn't make much sense but...

Hi There

I had a similar issue, but from further investigation, it was due to the client not having the correct XceedZip.dll file registered. A program called "Pastel" installed the file XceedZip.dll, but the version shipped with the installation was 4.5, This is the version of the dll file which was loaded into memory.

The version which is used by BPC is 6.0, I deleted the old version of the file and copied accross the BPC's version of the file to %WINDIR%\System32 and registered it again.

Once the machine was restarted it resolved the "File Split Error"

Hope this helps

Kind Regards

I've seen this under 5.0, very inconsistently. What I've done to get past it is to go to the last row and delete a bunch of rows then go to the last column and delete a bunch of columns. Then try again.
