Hi Experts.
I would just like to confirm what and where is SQL Anywhere 17 needed in order for us to perform a full cycle of synchronization. Here are what we know so far
Client - SQL Anywhere 17 Client Edition
Mobilink Server - SQL Anywhere 17 Server Edition
What we are not sure of is if we need to install any SLQ Anywhere 17 on the Unix server of our Oracle Database for the synchronization. Any advise?
Thanks,
Pau
You will need to install MobiLink Server somewhere in the environment which allows it to connect the database (consolidated) server. MobiLink is simply making a client connection to that database. You certainly can opt to run MobiLink and the consolidated database server on the same machine provided the hardware is sufficiently sized to host both or you can dedicate (one or more) machines to host MobiLink server.

There is no additional SQL Anywhere or MobiLink component or script that needs to be on the server hosting the consolidated database. You must be able to make an ODBC connection (using recommended drivers) form MobiLink to the database that is acting as the consolidated.
I hope that all of this information will be helpful for you.
