EDM Concepts:Energy data management

It is used for billing industrial and commericial customers wherein onpeak/offpeak rates are applicable and the customers wants billing to be done based on the consumption profile.

Steps ( Highlevel)

1.Create a consumption profile

2.Create a pricing profile

3.Create an output profile ( formula profile)

4.Profile allocation using role

5. Create a formula for carrying out the multiplication

6.Create an RTP interface

In addition you need to create a rate type which is relevant for RTP interface.

EDM consists of three parts :

1) Profile Management : to manage data values in profile. Profile contains values such as consumption and prices for a certain period of time. There are different types of profile such as historic, forecast, synthetic and price profile.

2) RTP Billing : to manage interval read billing. Consumption recorded in the profiles are billed through the RTP interface. The are three types of billing - Real time pricing, Time of Use and Spot pricing.

3) Settlement : for energy settlement. In de-regulated market scenario energy settlement is the key process used to calculate the actual and forecast for a settlement unit.

Thanx & Rgds,

Krishna
