Original Language in BSP Application HCM_LEARNING

Hi BSP Experts

We are using HCM_LEARNING. Unfortunately the original language was set to "DE" by SAP Development Team.

I need to change the original language to "EN" in the BSP Application and then change all OTR texts

according to SAP Note 574110 (Program SOTR_PROGRAM_02).

My questions:

- How do I change the original language in BSP Application (language field is not modifiable)

- SOTR_PROGRAM_02 lists all OTR Texts, but does not change anything. Message is:

"Changes only possible in original system"

Please advise me on how to do this correctly.

Hi all

Just for completness:

I made a workaround.

- Created a new BSP Application

- Checked in request object for the language

if en -> sap-language = en

if fr -> sap-language = fr

else -> sap-language = en

- Then navigate to HCM_LEARNING with sap-language parameter

Thanks for your reply to my question.

I can't the use the suggested URL Parameter "language" because then the application would

always start in English.

Here my requirements:

HCM_LEARNING original language is set to "DE", then SAP made translations into FR and EN.

If now a user starts this application with his preferred language, say it is "ES" than the application starts

in "DE", this is wrong, it should start in "EN" but it doesn't as the "default or orginal" langauge is set to "DE".

Then I found a SAP Note 574110. Unfortunately this note seems only be available in german.

But let me quickly summarize what it says:

Changing the master language and affected short texts in a BSP application

1) change original language of BSP Application

(can't to it, even with the suggested solution from Anita)

2) Use Program SOTR_PROGRAM_02 to change the original language for the OTR Texts:

So this note states cleary that it should be possible, yet I can't apply it.

-> SOTR_PROGRAM_02 brings message for each OTR Text:

"Changes only possible in original system"

Anyone can help me to apply this note correctly?

Dear Paul,

1. First open it in the ORIGINAL Lanuage.

2. From there, try to do translation !

clilck the menu 'GOTO' --->Translation.

you have to go thru the translation route. since you dont have authorization , you should get the same to carry out the job.

when you get the error no authorization, go to transaction /nsu53 which will tell you what auth. objects are required.

You can paas the language as URL parameter.

?sap-language=en

SOTR_PROGRAM_02 lists all OTR Texts, but does not change anything.

Try the transcation SOTR_EDIT
