Batch no should display instead of pernr

Hi Experts ,

Kindly help me in my below HCM scenario.

I'm working for a client where the employees are identified by their batch no (which is unique).ex: A97KS here A an alphabet used to denote the level of employee, 97 is his joining year ,ks denotes employee first last names.

But in SAP employee no is numeric .The client is not accepting the employees no as in SAP , they do want to display their batch nos as their unique employee no. Wherever SAP pernr shows there they want their batch no.

Is it possible ? If any one give step by step solution for this I really appreciate and thankful to them.

hi,

you ask is it possible? Well theoretically yes, but the real question is "is it a sensible thing to do" and I would say the answer to that is a definite no.

There are a number of places the batch number could be stored, IT0032 for instance and could be included on any custom reports.

PERNR however is all pervasive thru the SAP HR system and any attempt to modify it structure wise would in my opinion require a massive effort and be a recipe for disaster!

Hi Gibs,

Thanks for the reply.

Here I can maintain batch no IT0032 for custom reports but the problem is with standard reports . How can I show the batch no along with pernr. If I started changing all std.reports to custom reports.then what is the use of SAP , everything is spoiled out.

Advise me plz...

Like Brendan said, SAP HR resolves around PERNR, as far as I know you will not be able to replace this std. reports.

Your client has to realize that this is something they'll have to live with since they choose to use SAP.

Also an alternative to using IT0032 is using a subtype for IT0105.
