Which components affect the UI of SAP GUI for HTML (webgui)?

When upgrading SAP, which components can affect the user interface (look and feel, change of HTML elements, JavaScript, etc...)?

When I look at the installed components (via SAP GUI for Windows), I see the following components:

* SAP_BASIS

* SAP_ABA

* PI_BASIS

* ST-PI

* SAP_BS_FND

* SAP_BW

* SAP_AP

* WEBCUIF

* BBPCRM

Are there other components that may affect the UI that I did not list above?

Thank you,

Sharon

Hi Sharon,

For the SAPGUI for HTML (WEBGUI) there are two system parts involved:

- the Software component SAP_BASIS (which holds the ITS handler class, ITS-related coding, etc);

- the SAP Kernel (which holds the MIMEs for the ITS).

Kind regards,

Cris

Thank you Cristiano!

I will start to document the versions of these components moving forward.

Putting a version(s) to the UI is important to us, to know which UI we have tested and which UI we need to test.

Thank you,

Sharon

Hi Sharon,

Depending on the SAP_BASIS release, you have the choice to adopt a given kernel version.

For example, for SAP_BASIS 7.40, depending on the SP level, you can use kernel 7.45, 7.49 or even 7.53.

Note that the most recent corrections will be available in the most recent kernel version (in the example, 7.53).

Please try to use the most recent kernel version.

Kind regards,

Cris
