Cost Analysis Issue

Former Member

Dear friends,

We are maintaining the Material cost, Maintenance cost everything in INR. So, when the Internal Material cost for any PM order is taken the INR is displayed.

But now if I need the report of all the Internal Costs or any costs in general for PM Orders for a specific period then I find the difference in the cost displayed in Order to that displayed in MCI8 report.

As I understand, MCI8 report is default maintained in EUR but I am actually using the Exchange Rate M for the conversion into INR.

Though, I expect some variation or difference in the cost due to different currency maintenance, but actually the variation am observing is more than 6 -10% .

Please suggest me on how to proceed further.

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

This means your original currency is INR and analysis currency is EUR which is defaulted in MCI8.

In your case original currency is INR in which the data is updated. Analysis currency is EUR in which the data of the current analysis is displayed. This means the data is automatically converted from INR into the EUR. This conversion happens based on exchange rate type M that is valid on the system date (local date). So conversion happening is based on exchange rate valid on day of analysis and hence you are getting that difference which is right.

You can also carry out the conversion in EUR lateron in the created key figures list. There, you can also change the exchange rate type and the conversion date.

For this you need to first execute report in original currency and then on output you can select icon of Analysis currency(ctrl+F7) where you can define EUR as analysis currency and exchange rate type as M with conversion date and it will convert it accordingly.

Hi,

Possibly can you let us know what type of update it is for info structure for cost analysis. Is it V1 or V2 type update or any other. Are you using standard update rules.Reason is that cost updation in respective info structure is different .

let know this information to check.

Hi,

Am using the Asynchronous V2 update itself and every Std Rules are being maintained.

If I see the in other systems where the Object [I.e., PM order ] cost is maintained in Euro then I am finding the exact match between the order cost [int. cost, service cost, Actual cost] and MCI8 report or S115 table for that matter.

Only cost difference is seen for the object maintained in INR and S115 table maintained in EUR and exchange rate is M type.

hi

MCI8 can be used with your local curreny INR itself by specifying the same in the intial screen ,also your cost will be displayed segerated with the posting period where the actual cost of the order will get splitted according to the posting done .

what is difference you are finding whether converting the EUR to INR or between the acual cost in the order and the cost analysis
