Hi Friends...
In order to import courses from an External Training Provider, does one have to change the URL Settings for the Content Player in IMG?
OR
Should the course imported from a third party, play automatically using the 'Play Learning Net/Object' Functionality in Authoring Environment?
If the 'Content Provider's ' Content Player shows the following message, each time a course is played--
ERROR MESSAGE---
"Player is unable to communicate with the LMS. Your session needs to be closed"..
Any clue why this happens?
Would greatly appreciate a reply.
Thanks
Tania
Hi Medha and Sushma,
At the time of importing a non-SCORM course to Authoring Environment, you need to first make it SCORM Compliant by picking up the imanifest.xml file, located in the Course Content--locating it and then using the 'Convert' option in Authoring Environment.
Also, make sure the first line in code for the file is in comments. If it is a trusted SAP Certified Training Provider, it will be but make sure to double-check.
Let me know if this works and more information is required.

Hi Tania,
Thank you for replying.
I have nonScorm Course zip file. I have tried but i am not able to find imanifest.xml file. Please help me.
Could you explain step by step how to convert and import nonscorm to scorm through AE.
I am assuming only you can help on this iisue.
Thanks in advance
Sushma
Hi Sushma,
You need to create a root directory in C: or wherever and map it in the Authoring Environment.Unzip the course file as provided to you by the provider in the same location and then locate the imanifest.xml file. It is important you are able to locate it and if you are not, ask your content provider...there will be only one such file which will be used for conversion.
Make sure the provider understands the meaning of being SAP and SCORM Compliant. A lot of times they do, but are not.
let me know if this works.
Cheers,
Tania

HI ,
You need to import the third party course through the Authoring Enviroment AE to convert it to a valid
SCORM complied content which LSO can understand .You need to check in the course .
There may be some network issues for the 'Error message' you are getting .If not please raise an OSS
mesage in service marketplace .
Thanks,
Ramprabhu

Thanks, Ram
I did import the course through the Authoring Environment.
I managed to check in the course and publish it in the Portal, as well.
It was giving me the same error message when I click on 'Start Course' Now.
However, you are sure that there are no Back-End settings for the 'URL Of the Content Player' that need to be changed?
You reply will be a great help!!
Thanks
Tania
