We have a 64 bit Win 2003 server. I installed TREX 7.0 and applied revision 44 on it. This is for e-recruiting. I have also applied other notes such as 815866, 1008299, 1025706, 1029783, 1082004.
I have two problems that I need help on:
1) RFC connection from E-recruiting system to TREX not working
The TREXDEFAULT_REG and TREXDEFAULT_START RFCs give errors when I try test connection in SM59.
Connection Error
Error when opening an RFC connection

2) TREX rfcserver service missing
In the TREX admin tool, Landscape - Services, I do not see the rfcserver service.
In the TREX admin tool, Landscape - RFC, the connection status for my RFC destinations remains yellow. When I click on the individual RFC, I get the following information
Source -> Destination ( via Gateway ) pdrswecdv (00)
Workprocesses in SAP system - 20 DIA, 8 BGD
<AppServer> --? any TrexRfcServer - <local gw> 0ms *** ABAP ERROR no response>
pdrswepdv --> <AppServer> - <local gw>, Not set in TREX
I'll greatly appreciate any insight into this....
We were able to resolve the problem. The problem was caused because the TREX role SAP_BC_TREX_ADMIN was not properly activated in the SAP system ( new install ). We tried different users / roles to try and resolve the problem. However, once the role SAP_BC_TREX_ADMIN was completely activated and assigned to the TREX user in SAP, the problem was resolved. Thank you for all the responses. Regards ...

Hi
Basically the TREX has to register on the SAP system at startup time, then the RFC connection will work. Did you setup the rfc connection according to the documentation? You do it on the TREX side. Please have a look at this message for the link to the docu and some troubleshooting info:

Hi
check if this works out.
NOTE:-Make sure you take the backup of the trexrefcserver.ini file before you follow it.
1.Check the enteries in trexrfcserver.ini
2.Is the RFC name and other details here correct.
3.Correct the enteries and restart the trex instance.
Best,
Prasanna
