Workstation Application

Hi Guru's

We are using Windows vista.I want to define new Workstation application.

For Excel : xlsx & Word : docx

Pls let me know what are all the steps involved to create a new workstation application..

Kindly explain me briefly..

In work station you may define file extension as *.doc, *.docx.

In Define Workstation Application in network you setup how the file will be behave when you display, change or print.

As Data carr. type you set PC

As Application type you define the setting for display, change and print. E.g. you will have three lines one for display, one for change and one for print.

In most cases you set Path with prog. name to %AUTO%. In your case it would be preferred to set %SAP-OFFICE-INTEGRATION.INPLACE%. This will open the file in SAP and not in the stand alone application.

Path for ref. file can you leave blank.

I want to know what should be given in "File suffix for appl for the xlsx format..

In file suffix you can give it as xls and in file format give as

*.xls,

*.xlsx like that
