set allocation of batch to manual allocation.

Hi all,

I have a question regarding the batch allocation within SAP B1.

We are using SAP 9.3 PL04 for this situation.

I have an item which is a batch related item and this item is kept on stock within a bin located warehouse. The item is managed by batches, the management method is on every transaction and is issued primarilly by Bin Location.

The item will be sold as a separate item and is also used as part of a production BOM.

When I want to pick the item for a sales order pick list or for an issue for production, I want the customer to decide what batch they've selected. However SAP auto selected a batch of the item.

The allocation is based on the warehouse settings on the bin location tab.

However I think I miss some options over there. (or I dont know how to activate them in SAP, that is why i post this item :))

I would like to select the batches manually or I would like that the batches are selected by Expiration Date on the Batch.

In this example I can mannually change the allocation which SAP did,

but i want to prevent to take all these extra steps for my customer. (it will save them a lot of time)

I have found that there is an option on the bin location to exlcude the location for automatic allocation. This suits the situation for the issue for production.

However when i want to generate a Picking List for a sales order I could not generate the sales order because it is excluded there also.

Does anyone have some advise for this sitation?

Kind Regards,
