SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Installation on windows

Hi experts

I am running the SAPInst program from downloaded file 51033511_11 NW 7.0/BS2005 SR3 Inst. Master Windows Server on IA32 32bit .

However, I can't find the right components in there: I need to install the AS ABAP and the AS Java first (I think).

What I see is the following folder structure:

+ SAP CRM 5.0 Support Release 3

+ SAP ERP 6.0 Support Release 3

+ SAP SCM 5.0 Support Release 3

+ SAP SRM 5.0 Support Release 3

• SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Support Release 3

+ Standalone Engines

+ Optional Standalone Units

+ Software Life-Cycle Options

The SAP NetWeaver folder should contain the parts that I need but I can't find them...

Any idea? please help me out

Hi Deepak

Is your system 32 bit if yes ? then you cannot install NW SR3 on 32 bit.SR3 is not supported on 32 bit system.

For your reference check this note:1145779

If your sytem is 32 bit then download relevant 32 bit NW SR2 software.

I wonder whether installation on x86 32bit is supported.

Form SAP CD, I don't find the one for "Windows Server on x86 32bit" but one for "Windows Server on IA32 32bit". May I use this CD to install 32bit NW7.0 SR2 on x86 32bit windows server 2003?

Hi,

I am facing the same issue. I am planning to install Net Weaver 7.0 as distributed systems with Central Services Instance, Database Instance and central instance on different machines. Each of these machine is a 32 bit machine with Windows Server 2008.

Could someone guide me how to install it. I cannot see any of these installations when I insert the Master DVD. I can see these instances only under system copy. Should I perform system copy for a brand new installation?

Any help would be really useful.

If your software is 32bit and ur trying to install in 64bit It will not install and installation error will come

I disagree with this i have 64 bit system and i have installed 32 SAP software on it and its working fine i dint got any issues during installation.

Note: Its on my personal deskoptop i tried this installation

As well as u must check ur Operating System is supporting 32 or 64bit. then check the Operating System Patch level. some times Operating System Patch level will also gives the SAP Installation error.

Try to check with SAP Support because we are having 32bit and 64bit I think your SAP Software is for 64bit might be that is the reason it is not installing. (or) other wise you can check your cd's pouch in that you can see software is for which bit 32 or 64 bit.

If your software is 64bit and ur trying to install in 32bit It will not install and installation error will come.

Hi,

All SAP products release SR3 will not support 32 bit envroinment. EHP1 for NW also will not support 32 bit. You can use the SR2 instead of SR3 and apply the patches.

I had the CDs fro ECC6.0 SR2 but didn't find these 3.

installation you dont require Upgrade export CDs if you want additional language to install you need language cd

else inst master, kernal and inst export and java comp DVD are required

I'm not sure I understand the question so please forgive me if the answer doesn't make sense.

I think all you really need to worry about is installing the application. The application server installation comes along with that and the install asks you about what you are trying to do as you go.

Start out using the sapinst program under the ERP 6.0 folder. (ERP is easiest install.)

I'm not a Windows guy but here are two parameters that have bitten me before (on HPUX installs) and maybe they will help. You need to make sure sapinst_use_hostname is set to the name of the server. You also need to make sure the java_home is set.
